Calcined Anthracite Coal is manufactured by heat treating high grade anthracite coal in an electrically "fired" calcining furnace. CAC is heated to temperatures as high as 2000 C, which results in some development of graphitic structure in the finished product.
Usage:
- Mainly used in production of carbon paste electrode and cathode blocks for aluminum industry.
- Used in manufacture of prebake electrodes, soderberg and tamping pastes.
- It is also an excellent smelting additive due to its high purity and consistency.
